My little girl loves being outside. She could sit for hours and play with just rocks and sticks. Don't get me wrong.....she's a girly girl but she loves the outdoors as much as any little guy.

Avalon has been in the studio for the last two weeks. We have not had any days off because on the weekends, when we are not in the studio, we have been on the road with concerts from MI to FL. Well; I have not been to my favorite haunt in Nashville. Calypso Cafe is what I am speaking of. Those of you Avalon fan clan people know what I am talking about. I sure like what we are doing in the studio but miss my chicken, black beans and side salad with their wonderful house dressing. more...

Well, we have just finished "Street Week" on Stand and whew am I tired. Most days we were performing in two cities on the same day. We would arrive in the first city in the morning (on our tour bus) and clean up in our hotel rooms. Leave right away for a mall where we would sing a 35 minute set of 3 old songs and 4 songs from Stand. We would sign CD's for about an hour to 90 minutes after that and then head right back on the bus for our next city. Our sound check would normally be at 5.30 and then the same drill all over againg for another set. Leaving after that mall would put us back on the bus for the next morning in our next city. On and on for about a week.

We had a great time doing it and saw so many people in the Southeast. Hopefully some of you reading this were at one of these events.

I should also mention that we had an afternoon off in Orlando and my parents were there. It was great to take them and Lillian to the "Magic Kingdom" of Disneyworld together. I know it was a lot of fun for my mom and dad to watch Lillian's face as she went through "It's a Small World" ride. Lilli was heard saying something like "stay" as we were getting off the ride so we, of course, took her for another round in the next hour.

All in all it seemed to be a good week getting to meet our friends in Christian radio and singing to a lot of listeners in food courts. I had a bunch of Chick-fil-A and Subway and sang my heart out. Not a bad combination I guess.

Nashville, TN (February 1, 2006) - - Gathering an enthusiastic audience has long been a strong suit for Avalon, and leaving their fans encouraged and entertained is always the outcome. The Avalon promo tour, touting the recent release of STAND, was no exception. Crowds, radio and retail were ready to hear songs live from the group’s seventh studio recording and happy to celebrate their 10th anniversary as a group! The new music represents Avalon’s evolution to a new level of understanding of God’s unrelenting faithfulness. A recent CCM Magazine review adds, “Avalon’s ballads soar again through orchestrated arrangements” and, “Vocally, each member gives convincing performances throughout, once again taking four strong vocalists to create one powerful sound.”

Avalon just returned from the tireless two weeks of travel to radio stations, malls and popular retail spots, performing for thousands at each stop. The three-time Grammy nominated vocalists drew record crowds including 3,000 at the Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem, NC, one of the seven markets in which they performed. Avalon experienced a crowd so large at the FYE store in Jacksonville, Florida, that security ushered people into the store in groups of 10, so that they did not exceed store capacity. The mall manager of an Atlanta area promo tour stop noted that Avalon was the 2nd largest event the mall had ever hosted. Equally strong, enthusiastic crowds came to welcome Avalon in Orlando, Spartanburg, SC, Charlotte, NC, and Johnson City, TN. Jody McBrayer, Melissa Greene, Janna and Greg Long were thrilled to see the crowds and stayed until the last autograph was signed and the last photo was taken at each stop.

This momentum will continue to build this year, as Avalon is welcomed into the Women Of Faith Family, adding 24 of the life-changing conference dates to their existing touring schedule. The next Women Of Faith Conference date for Avalon will take place in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida during the weekend of February 23. Hey friends!

We just got off our huge promotional tour for the new CD, Stand.

(Which I am sure all of you have bought!!! HA HA.) It was a great week and thousands of you showed up at each concert to support us. THANKS so much! I tell you what though, because we were in malls primarily, I ate way too much Chick-Fil-A and Subway, I have been taking advantage of the "Eating for Two" mentality a little too much probably...But the good news is I have continued to work out with my trainer and we did a metabolic test. I found out I burn almost 2000 calories just by resting all day... You have to love that! This is why I have not gained any pregnancy weight yet, YEAH! Now I am sure it will catch up to me in another month or so, but for today little Greene and I just enjoyed a strawberry blizzard!

Also I am glad that February is here! It is the month of LOVE. I just know that Ben, my husband, is already planning a huge, romantic date for us. Especially because it will be the last Valentine's Day with just the two of us. Or at least after he reads this journal he will feel guilty and begin planning. Either way it works out.... What is it about the men in our lives anyway. Most of them are not really romantic and at least they can admit it, but just for this one day... and my birthday, and our anniversary, and maybe Christmas... Just pretend to be Mr. Romance. Shower your lady with love, affection, flowers, and maybe just a little gift ( Like the new Stand CD by Avalon). Don't worry we will do the same for you too, ha ha. I love you Ben, you are my favorite ba-by! So Friends have a great superbowl party, a romantic valentine's, and a fabulous February God bless!
